Angela (Philadelphia resident with a BA from Temple University in Theater Production) and Caron (Delco native with a BA from Temple University in Communications) met at a large haunted house and began a silly friendship. With a combined total of 20 years experience in the haunted house industry as Operations/Events and Haunted House Managers, and a few less years telling stories to crowds at the bar, we decided to share tipsy stories with an even larger audience.
The name of our podcast comes from our work in live entertainment, where we learned the basics of radio etiquette. Not a FM/AM radio, think more like a walkie talkie. The radio is necessary to stay in touch across a large site with a lot of moving parts. Being in constant contact is a must. At our particular workplace, we use a lot of different channels. For example, all operations discussions (ticketing, lines, security, etc.) are held on Channel One. Channel Four is considered the conversation channel. Longer discussions get moved off of Channel One in order to keep that channel clear in the event of an emergency, or other needs. It is also a way to avoid having potentially embarrassing things broadcast to all other radios on site with guests in earshot.
But if you’re us, you’re probably eavesdropping, or four dropping, as we call it. And you’ll be eavesdropping with us weekly now that you’ve met us on Channel Four.
We will be talking about urban legends, folklore, ghost stories, cryptids, and all things weird and spooky while we drink. So if we slur, mind your own business. It’s part of the charm, and we can’t edit everything out. As often as possible, we will visit the locations we’ll be discussing because, aside from how fun it is going on adventures, we just like having genuine experiences that add to each episode.
And, with that, Caron and Angela signing off radio.
